Fir + Juniper + Pine Beeswax Candle

Laughing Lichen’s Candles:

All of our candles are handmade in small batches at our remote “off-the-grid” wilderness facility located deep in the Northwest Territories boreal forest. Our facility is run using solar energy. Burn Time & Scent:

30 + hr burn time. This candle is infused with pure wild Fir, Juniper and Pine essential oil. There are also Juniper, fir and jack pine botanical extracts infused within the candle.  Did you know that beeswax candles burn for longer than most standard paraffin and soy candles?

Our beeswax candles are free of the toxic chemicals and carcinogens that are released when soy or paraffin candles burn.  Have you opened the lid of a candle at a store and had a overwhelming experience?  We certainly have, that is why we only add a subtle amount of pure essential oils which are not overpowering, even in a smaller room.

Other Candle Wax’s:

The most widely used type of candle wax is Paraffin, which also happens to be the lowest cost wax option.  Paraffin is a byproduct of the oil and gas industry and is refined from crude oil.  As for soy candles, the ethical practices of the industry are often called into play.  Deforestation, soy monocultures involving pesticides and fertilizers, are both contributing negatively to the environment.  The process of extracting the oil from the soy bean is energy intensive, and releases high amounts of VOC’s into the atmosphere.
