Decorating our northern bogs with vibrant energy and colours, wild tamarack trees provide a source of delicious herbal tea each spring. Fresh new growth tamarack tips are collected by hand and carefully dried to make a delicious herbal tea. Wild tamarack needles and branch tips contain vitamin C and offer a delicate yet aromatic flavour when brewed. Enjoy a little bit of wild in your teacup!
Fun Fact: Did you know that the tamarack is one of the very few conifers to lose its needles in the fall? Tamarack needles turn a golden yellow before they drop. Their brightness stands out in the dark sub-arctic forests. They are a true landmark and are the official tree of the Northwest Territories.
Origin:
All the ingredients are hand harvested by Laughing Lichen in the Northwest Territories of Canada.
Wilderness Manufacturing:
Each herbal blend we make in small batches at our remote “off-the-grid” wilderness facility located deep in the Northwest Territories boreal forest. Our entire facility is run using solar energy. This ensures that the air drying of the collected herbs is done in a location far from any pollutants or contaminations. All of our harvesting locations are in pristine virgin forests (old-growth), as here in the Northwest Territories of Canada, there has been very little development or natural resource activity over the years.

It’s very interesting. A lot like the spruce, but I detected a hint of dry mustard to it as well.
